Neighbors in East Calhoun and West Calhoun would like to see more cross-country skiing at Lake Calhoun, and the neighborhood groups are asking the Park Board to consider grooming trails throughout the winter.
"It would be a really sweet thing I think," said Ben Jilek, a member of the East Calhoun Community Organization. "I'm really enthusiastic about it, a lot of people want to get this done."
He said hundreds of people who register for the annual Loppet Ski Festival come from the zip code east of the lake.
"It makes the case that people would use it," he said.
