"Dapper" Dan-Michael Batista has set up shop on the second floor of the Blaisdell Mansion, where he teaches men how to shop on consignment — and enjoy it.
The New York transplant's inspiration for Hidden Haberdashery came from his background as a social worker. Working with young men in Syracuse, Batista helped them buy secondhand suits in order to land jobs at the mall.
"Something amazing would happen," he said. "They would go from young boys to young men."
